Julian H
Where the best place to buy the LPW100181 official part. Ebay? Any recommended sellers? I will buy a few but just need to get the "running in" oil out of my "new" engine quicksmart
Member Jonathan Kay Posted October 25, 2015 Member Share Posted October 25, 2015 Has to be "official" rather than equivalent? Caterham Parts?Halfords equivalent is HOF213. NB Club discount. Not sure how you'd know that cheap ones on eBay were genuine, as opposed to "genuine".Jonathan
Julian H
Call me mad JK but there are some things I want OE, and an oil filter is one, such a shame Oily fitted an OE one, and after only 500 miles I am going to be binning it LOL. But there must be better places to buy a standard Rover/MG part than CC...
Mankee
I've not had a look recently, but packs of 10 OE Rover filters from eBay were about £30 inc. delivery. You must have some K mates locally, Shirley, so that you can share the filters about?

Wrightpayne
For future reference Freelanders used the k series so Land Rover should be able to supply. Ive also used Unipart filters which look identical to Rover item (exact same crimpings / internal components) Ian
john milner
I stocked up on a few OE filters a couple of years when they were going cheap on Ebay. I would not claim that OE were the best as I think it likely that Mahle and K&N produce a superior product. There are a few filter reviews on You Tube (unfortunately mostly US) which help explain why one filter is better than another. From what I remember the most important thing to consider is if in high pressure bypass mode the oil flow washes dirt from outside the filter back into the engine. I do not know if OE of Halfords is good or bad with this.
Julian H
I did wonder bout the Freelander.... but I have a few for the next couple of years oil changes now. I purchased from an official X-Part seller so they should be okay, no doubt the K&N/Mahle would ultimately be better though.
