X Flow throttle cable and heater control

🤔 1990 X Flow

Two questions.

Is it possible to purchase a throttle cable that will replace the Caterham edition and allow the trnsfer of the pedal and carb end fittments. Mine is now a little knackered and needs replacing but on a 1990 car I suspect that I will have to use the Caterham specific.

My car is not fitted with a heater control so its permanently on. Is it possible to retro fit and does this provide a by pass if the heater is switched off.

John,

Not sure if a non-Caterham replacement cable is available.

Give Redline a call - they will be able to let you know your options.

I can't see any reason why a heater control valve cannot be retro-fitted.

The valve just interupts the flow of coolant to the heater matrix, so no bypass is needed.

Several Blatchatters have removed the heater and either plugged up the heater hose outlets (no flow) or run a pipe from the output to the input (flow)

John,

I have two throttle cables fitted to my car (ex-race). I replaced them with universal motorbike clutch cables . I had to shorten them and they came with different ends. The ends had to be drilled and filed but they seem to be OK - a year later.
