Should I be seeing any difference in oil pressure from before 🤔 It is running low, but might be the pressure sender as it was starting to get a bit iffy before I started. Also the thermostat did not want to open when the water in the water jacket got to temp. It seems OK now, but I had to let some water out. Andrew Dent Posted February 1, 2003 Share Posted February 1, 2003 I made teh simple mistake of putting the thermostat in upside down, and it took me ages to find out what teh problem was. Fred Posted February 1, 2003 Share Posted February 1, 2003 I think the oil pressure is reduced with the laminova fitted. By what percentage i don't know. I think you may have let air out when you opened up the radiator. you cannot over fill the rad only the header tank .make sure it is bled correctly.  Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Adrian Williams Posted February 3, 2003 Share Posted February 3, 2003 Andy Laminova will reduce oil pressure but only marginally (not much more than the thickness of the needle in the gauge). To bleed rad jack up the front of the car so that the top of the rad is the highest point in the water system and bleed with engine running and heater on if fitted using the bleed screw on top of the rad. Adrian Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Peter Carmichael Posted February 3, 2003 Share Posted February 3, 2003 Not a good idea to bleed with the engine running. That there water jacket is pressurised for a reason. Also not necessary as long as you can get the nose of the car high enough, but then I hook the front of the car onto my engine crane and lift to ~35 degrees...
