R500 Exhaust Upgade

Help! I might have the upgrade bug!

I've noticed that on all the new caterhams reviewed in magazines recently have one thing in common, they have all had the cat removed. I like the clean lines of no cat and the reviews say the cars sound amazing.

If I was looking at starting to upgrade my 360R would a R500 exhaust with decat be a good starting point?

What can I expect the difference to be in both sound and bhp? Would it be worth an air filter/box upgrade at the same time? If so recommendations?

Anyone have this setup or similar on video?

Cheers

Doug

First main step for the basic 2l Duratecs is probably to move to throttle bodies plus associated complementary changes to ECU, cams, injectors, valve springs etc. as appropriate. Beyond that, you're into pistons, conrods etc. and mods to ancillaries like oil/cooling circuits.

Here's a link to Premier Power's Duratec page which gives you an idea about what changes Stuart and co. make when they do it. Caterham also sell various kits and plenty of other places do similar as the Duratec is such a common engine.

If you're on Facebook have a look for 'Duratec in Detail'.
