7 wonders of the world
Yes,make sure your orient the boss one the new wheel the same as the old one,Another point to bear in mind if you drive with gloves on is that you need to match the gloves to the wheel ie leather to leather suede to suede otherwise it all gets a little slippery ! Julian H
HiI understand, as of only this morning from a learned L7C member, that the wheel does need drilling. He had a local company do it for him to make sure it was right. Getting the holes exactly right is not to be sniffed at?
Mrp
Hi JulianAn idea who would drill it, would like to change mine to a flat bottomed suede one. Many thanksMrp
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted September 20, 2015 Area Representative Share Posted September 20, 2015 GavinWhen you say standard wheel I assume you really mean the race wheel (3 bolts) as opposed to the Motolita wheel. No reason why you can't drill the holes yourself. Just remember the old adage:- "Measure twice - Drill once".If I recall correctly some new blank wheels have the centre pop marked making it easier to do. gavingraysonr300
Thanks for the advise everyone wheres the best place to get one ?
Julian H
I can't imagine it would be too difficult to drill, especially if you have a removable boss to use for hole setting out and another wheel to give you a good starting point. A metalwork company should be able to drill for you if you aren't confident. As Paul says, measure twice, drill once !
