Al7
Can anyone recommend the correct spark plugs and best make for the Sigma 1.6? (they're long reach) and a supplier?CheersAlastair
martyn
NGK TR5B-13 is a very popular plug and works well for me.I buy them from Opie Oils

martyn
Also should have added.. You can easily remove your current plugs and check what they are. Probably best to stick with the same ones unless you have any specific problems with them.
Martin J
Is that code correct? I have some NGK TR5A-10 long reach plugs purchased from Halfords for the Ford Focus etc.
IanReeves
I don't know what makes me think that Ford changed the spec from the 1.3mm gap to 1.0mm due to poor idle. I've got NGK TR5A-10 in mine again from Halfords £
Martin J
tip, a little copper grease on the threads is a good idea.
martyn
You are both exactly right.. Ford at some point did change the spark gap for the focus 1.6 from 1.3mm to 1.0mm. Hence the difference in NGK item number. However, I dont think this message ever reached Caterham. My car has been serviced at Caterham main dealer its entire life and when I checked recently, it was fitted with TR5B-13 (1.3mm).This is why I think it is a good idea to check what you already have and stick with it unless there is a reason to change. Dr Slotter
The change in spark plug spec. was probably when it became VCT/VVT.
