Stickies "disappearing" after a month

If the "last updated" box at the top of the forum is set to the default "1 Month" then any Sticky threads don't appear unless they have been "commented" on in the last month. This is despite the thread being labelled as a 'sticky'!   (editing the initial post doesn't change the 'thread updated' date). 

I can see this "feature" causing a lot of confusion in the future as we build up more "for information" stickies on various forums - as has already occurred with the "User Guide" sticky on Chitchat.

I think a "sticky" should be visible permenantly despite the last updated setting (yes, I realise one can add a bttt post to each sticky thread every 28 days, but that's not likely to happen in reality, especially when we get more "For Info" sticky threads on the various forums).

Can we please have "Sticky" threads arrear irrespective of the setting in the "last updated" box?
