If the car was originally a Fireblade, does it have a live axle? If so, what diff ratios are available?

Looking at available engine revs and gear ratios (in particular, primary reduction) will be very significant in alternative engine/'box choice.

With dedion cars 'busa's easily run out of revs on anything but the shortest tracks unless they have the tallest 3.14 Sierra diff ratio.

Paul - is it an original caterham/JW fireblade? If so IMO keep it as a fireblade.

Then look to buy/build a busa/ZZ

I guess the decision is...

Busa - well known and available, easy to get installation parts, highly tunable, plenty of support around, the known issues are well known and solveable...

ZZR - if you want the engineering challenge and have something slightly different...

I don't know much about the ZZR to comment on its suitability in a 7...

Also do you use it for racing/trackdays/road?

Rob
