Advice needed on very light 7 spring rate (BEC and S2 BMC engine)

I'm currently rebuilding an early S2 with BMC engine.

I need to give spring rates to shocks suppliers (mainly road use) and have no idea of values.

What are you advice ? I found values for Xflow / Rover engined car but not for lighter car as this S2 will be.

Perhaps Fireblade cars could be good for comparaison too as they are L.A too ?

Thanks for you help !

Regards

Nicolas

A std K series had 150 LBs springs on the front and give that the A seies weigh about the same but has a lighter gearbox i would say spring rate between 125 LBs and 150 LBs.

At the back it depends a bit on the reinforcement plate on the axle but the wheels/brakes will be lighter than a Ital axle my guess is between 90 LBs and 120 LBs

Just my 2p

Well done Simon perfect answer *biggrin*
Note it is not "I do not want to buy from you" just read "for a 90bhp road car I do not want put a  lot of money for shocks" I think you sell upper range shocks and do not want to waste your time if I do not buy from you finally.
But I will get in touch with you now as you friendly offer *clap*

Hi Elie *wavey*

Thanks for advice. If I take middle of your suggested values we have 130 front / 100 rear

I forget to say: It will be rebuild with an Ital axle (Not Standard10) so do you think it will need stronger rear springs ?
