olly_h
POBC,I'm trying to help a friend out whose issue is with the brake warning light flashing at him when he gives it the full beans. I have checked brake fluid isn't low, connectors to the cap look sound and clean and brake pedal feel is reportedly firm. What's the next logical step? Its a roadsport 2011.Thanks, Olly
Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 9, 2015 Member Share Posted June 9, 2015 Is it coming on fully bright? There's a known fault where the light comes on inappropriately but is dim.I'd swap the cap.Jonathan
richy
You've mentioned checking for low fluid level - you need it to be very full to prevent the light from coming on at all.Richy
Mark w
Check the handbrake micro switch . That gave the same symptoms on my car. Make sure it's correctly adjusted and tightly screwed on .
olly_h
Thanks for the advice guys. Handbrake switch is a good idea and makes good sense with the problem being under hard throttle. I'll check all of the above. Thanks
Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 11, 2015 Member Share Posted June 11, 2015 Good point about the handbrake switch. How about disconnecting the cap and seeing if the fault still occurs?Jonathan
