Gregs79
Hi all,I have been giving my car the once over in readiness for our trip to Le Mans. In doing so I have discovered that the horns aren't working!I have checked the fuse and that seems OK, I have checked that when the button is pressed that there is voltage across my earth and the terminal on the horn and have also switched horns to try a 3 others!I believe there is a relay, but does anyone know which one it is? If the relay wasn't working I would have thought that I wouldn't be getting any voltage to the horn?!Anyone got any other ideas? Mankee
Unless it's been changed recently the horn relay is the top left of the bank of four:https://www.dropbox.com/s/eqfwdxlr5ouofkp/31%20July%202012%20-%20App%20B%20Electrical.pdf?dl=0So none of the other horns you've tried work either? Have you connected it/them directly to the battery to see if they parp as they should?
Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 7, 2015 Member Share Posted June 7, 2015 If the voltage is there I think that either the horn is bust or there's a high resistance somewhere in the circuit. Two main diagnostic routes: either measure the resistance or rig temporary wires in parallel until it works. And one part of the latter is direct testing of each horn, as Mankee says. Until you've done that they're useless for diagnosis.Jonathan
