Molecular--Bob
My car is from the period when 2 fog lights were fitted, one of which has stopped working. Do I need 2 working lights for mot? It is badly corroded and will need replacement. Would removing the lens and reflector be enough for mot testing? Don't think I will be able to get a replacement before Wednesday. Member Jonathan Kay Posted June 6, 2015 Member Share Posted June 6, 2015 Have you got the testing manual?Under that time pressure I think I'd put opaque black tape over the lens.Jonathan
Molecular--Bob
To be honest, the lens failed on disassembly, so I would have had to tape it together and the reflector is trash as well, so i will just terminate the wires and leave the housing as it looks ok for re use, just going to get a new battery for my multi meter to check that I have 12v at the fitting. Not got a copy of the test manual, can you point me at one.

Drumster
You don't mention which one has failed, nearside or offside. I would have thought that the remaining working one should be on the offside?
Molecular--Bob
I now have 2 working lights, found that the wire into the terminal had seperated at the crimp, so levered it apart, stripped the end of the wire and re-did the crimp, so all good.
