Alternator wiring

HELP.

Am trying to install a replacement alternator to my K series.

The existing alternator has 2 wiring connections - one a heavy thick brown wire which I assume is back to the battery. The other is for the alternator charging warning lamp.

The new alternator (BRISE) has 3 connections, one large which I assume is for the brown lead. The other 2 are much smaller one of which is marking IG. I believe I have to run a wire from one of these connections back to either the coil or ignition switch to pick uop positive supply. This acts as an aggitator supply for the alternator; and the other I assume is for for the warning light. I have tried every which way to get the warning light to work but without success.

Have checked the bulb and fuse and they are both OK.

Any ideas anyone?

If this is the Brise alternator from the Demon Tweeks catalogue, then I *think* you connect both small terminals to the single exciter wire. IE, you make up a Y piece of cable, with the appropriate connectors. I have done this on my Cossie engined car with the Nippon Denso alternator from a Daihatsu Charade, which appears to be identical to the Brise offering, except it's about 1/3rd the price..........

Disclaimer.

If it doesn't work, and you or the car get fried, don't blame me........
