I'm putting super unleaded in my 160 (with its Suzuki k6a engine). Any wisdom about choice of fuel appreciated... I understand that for older engines whether you use 95 or 98 doesn't make any difference.

Interesting. So, do you think there's any more capability in the engine? I've seen crazy Japanese website where they've got 100+hp from the K6A engine.

And on my first test drive, the CC sales guy did mention that there was rumours of an ECU remap at some point...

Cheers

No not really any more power to be had in the standard form and believe me we looked for it.

You would need a bigger turbo and all that goes with it to get the 100hp.

Have a look at this to see what lengths the Japanese have gone to for 0.5hp, i.e. nothing really.

As to what ideas CCL have for this car I dont know as we all got made redundant last year.

Thanks for the info, Simon. The Speedhunters article is interesting - not sure what I think about the new tyres. I had assumed that the car was designed around the concept of narrow tyres with high walls.

Although the manifold looks rather nice, I don't think it's worth it for 1/2hp, you're right... Even in combo with the exhaust, for another 1/2hp. Probably get just as much by cleaning the airfilter!

All the best

If the engine is mapped for 95 the only "gain" from 98 is less power as it burns slower.

Of course if you are unsure that the 95 at your pump is not up to spec it's safer to use 98.
