Peter G
Can anyone advise of the correct cap head bolt size for the radius arm forward bolts to the chassis? My workshop manual refers to a fixings pack ZRS21, not much use now!
Jonathan Kay
This should narrow it down... and according to the Assembly Guide it's item 2.Jonathan
Peter G
Thanks Jonathan, but now I've disassembled a bit looks like I need a standard bolt as the hole is threaded, they do say that everyone is different.
Grubbster
Sounds odd Peter? Radius arm bolts on mine go from inside the car to out, then the arm goes on then a nut. The caphead sits in a recess on the inside. I can't visualise how it could be any different?
F355GTS
Peter Surprised they're threaded? the bolts normally go through from the inside and are secured with a Nyloc on the outside for the Radius arm. They do seize in the chassis, perhaps thats what you're seeing?
6speedmanual
I agree with the responses above. Pete, does your show a nyloc nut to the outer side of the radius arm bush under the wheel arch?
Peter G
I've had all this area off today as one of the bolts sheared yesterday after the blat. I found out the arms were in the lower "race" position rather than the upper "road" set. I have one bolt left obviously and it only goes in from outside I've put it in both the upper holes. All holes are threaded, you'll have to trust me on this as I can't upload any pictures, partly due to image size and partly due to operator error. I plan to refit the arms in the upper position when I get a new pair of bolts.Would the fact that it was an academy car in 2001 explain this variation? 6speedmanual
I don't know but the concept of having tjreaded bushes does hold an appeal as it would allow the rear supension links to be removed with the seats in situ.
Peter G
Agreed, shame I didn't look closer before I took the seats out. Still had to take the wings off to get the bolt into the upper holes though.
