Trevor Brooks
I recently bought two harnesses from Luke.Unfortunately the lap belt adjusts towards the floor, whereas my original ones adjust upwards away from the floor ,which is what I want . Luke want an additional charge for the type I requie as ,they 99% of 7's adjust toward the floor and I should have specified which ones I wanted!! Is this right? Nillbymouth
Nope. Mine adjust upwards. Doing it down would be impossible. Can you rethread the straps through the buckles to make it adjust upwards?
LouisFeakes
Shoulders down - waist up.How much more do they want? (If you don't mind me asking)
Trevor Brooks
I agree with that, there is no room to tighten downwards, especially in Tillet seats! I dont want to mess with the belts as I will return them ,methinks.
Trevor Brooks
Thats 3 out of 3 tightening upwards ! Where did they get 99% from? I didnt get as far as asking what the extra cost was, they have to go back and Ill try elsewhere. Thanks all
Bone Rat
I ended up getting a set from Titon - these pulled up to tighten. None of the others seemed to consider this. Had a Willans set which pulled down - useless if you tend to the snug fit like I do.Good quality & quick turn around - cheaper than the big names
Jonathan Kay
Titon will make them whichever way and length and handedness you like. Very happy with mine, bought through Prima.Jonathan
CharlesElliott
I would agree with Titon, but via club member Simon Rogers @ Meteor Motorsport. You can also discuss the various options with him and get his advice....
Trevor Brooks
I"ve seen Titon mentioned before, think I'll go down that route, via Meteor Motorsport. Thanks again,T
Alan Reeves
I changed mine to Schroth, pull down, great, not cheap
F355GTS
I bought some new Caterham branded Luke harneses recently and they're certainly pull up for the waist straps, agree they'd be impossible to use the other way
CharlesElliott
I prefer pull down - adjust once, straps out the way.....
Simon.Rogers
Pull Down vs Pull UpTiton belts only available in 3" wide straps. (Yes they do fit HANS).With a Tillet seat the 3" buckle will not fit down the side. IMHO you have no choice but to opt for "Pull Down" lap belts.Leather seats = you have the choice. The benefit of the Pull Up is that you can tighten once in the car. But its never perfect IMHO.Pull down means the adjustment buckle is right there in front of you - no need to go fiddling down the side to adjust it. Just breath in to do the lap belts up.All this knowledge is what you get by ordering from me - been there and tried the options. You also get a few other specification changes more suited to a Caterham rather than the regular "Kit Car" belts if ordering direct.
