Ian Mackenzie
Hi thereI'm hoping someone can identify my diff, I'm thinking it is a Titan and if so what oil should I use?ThanksIan
Jonathan Kay
Can you add an end-on photo: there's a trick that depends on whether it looks like an X, or something like that. JonathanPS: By an extraordinary coincidence I'm watching a programme on giving LSD to dolphins!
Jonathan Kay
This is the article I was trying to remember:http://www.mycaterham.com/mediac/400_0/media/DIR_39305/DIR_119216/Guide.jpgJonathan
Ian Mackenzie
Here is another pic....I visited Angus and Tessa's site as well. It is a plate diff with the two axles like the ZF. It came off a 2012 R500 when the owner changed from a Ford to BMW Diff. This diff was the orignal factory supplied diff that came with the R500 in 2012.CheersIan
ChrisC
Has it got a serial number? Example 45R691838
Mankee
I assume that you don't have the diff in your possession? As I was going to ask what is the code stamped on the crownwheel flange. ZFs were phased out a long while back I think.

ChrisC
The number looks like a Titan serial number, the one I posted was. Try sending it to Titan, they will tell you the exact spec that it left the factory.

Ian Mackenzie
Quick update....Following on from ChrisC's suggestion (Thank you) I emailed Titan with the serial number and they confirmed it was indead a Titan along with the ramp angles and the preload that it was built with.CheersIan
