Replacement front lights

I had a search so not found anything similiar but i am looking to remove the standard (bulky, heavy and aero dynamics of a brick) front headlights and replace with something else.  For a race series i do they require it (something about scotland and bad weather...) so was thinking some DLR's and attach to roll cage.

Anyone had any experience of doing this and any pitfalls you had to avoid?
