Andy Best
I've just bought a steel SLR radiator, 1997 vintage. In my existing radiator there is a threaded hole in the top for the fan switch 🤔, the hole is not in the new radiator. Can somebody let me know where the fan switch locates on this age/style rad. I suspect I will need to buy some part from Caterham but what is it? Thanks Andy
Andrew Dent
Sounds like the new rad has been designed to work with an ECU controlled fan which locates its sender in the water rail. 4 wheels on my
TomBerlin
Here in the states I've seen in both Saabs and Volvos short pipes the diameter of a radiator hose into which you can fit a fan switch. Saab puts them on the top hose {mid -late 80's 900's}, Volvo puts them in the bottom hose(same vintage 700 turbos). I could come up with part numbers if it helps. Paul Richards.
Andy Take it to a radiator specialist and ask them to add one for you. I know someone who can do it if you need me to organise - give me a ring. Paul R. C7PPR K series that starts when hot!!
