ian balson
Dear All, What should I be setting my carb float levels to for DCOE 45's on a standard 2ltr VX? Many thanks Ian
Foxy Smith
7.5mm with needle/seat just touching 15mm full droop Hope this helps Alan
Roger King
The figure of 7.5mm applies only if you have old carbs with brass floats. It is highly unlikely that you have these fitted to a Vauxhall Caterham. The newer ones have black plastic floats and the figure is officially 14mm with the needle valve just closed (no compression of the spring mechanism in the needle valve), but many engine builders opt for 12mm or 13mm. ian balson
Many thanks chaps, I do indeed have the newer black plasitc floats. So, 12-13mm it is then. PS - What are the consequences of too little or too much? Rgds Ian
