MOT fail - split lowered floor

Exactly the correct fix to eliminate this failure.

I'm all for the ACBC adding lightness ethos but not when it adds a potential problem whether that means not completing another lap of a circuit and retirement or another 365 day lap of the year and MOT failure.

Thanks for your post and the pics.

Arch to the rescue!

A few seconds assessment and it was agreed a new floor was the best option.

About 30 minutes later the old floor is out and the new one being measured and strengthened.

Two 3mm ally strips were deemed the best solution (and I'm not arguing engineering with Bruce & Co.)

And the view from underneath when fitted. Rivets fitted or removed at about 1 every 3 seconds!

Home via the MOT retest and I have the necessary paperwork to drive again! Fish and Chipping next week!

Great work Arch, many thanks.

The ally strips will spread the load but not by much, I'd keep an eye on them, you won't see a failure next week or next month but perhaps in a year or two at the rear inner corner where the strip ends as the Un-reinforced floor will flex there.
