Grim Reaper
Can anyone confirm that the fog light goes off when main beam is selected. I am just doing some wiring work on the lights (inserting some relays into the apparently inadequately-wired dip and main beam feeds) and tracing the wires on the cct diagram in the build manual it would appear that the fog light supply is taken from the dip beam side of the dip/main selector switch instead of the feed into it. Seems odd to me since this would mean that if you were driving in patchy fog at night and occasionally using main beam, the fog light(s) would be going on and off like a brake light! Alex Birtwisle
My fog light goes out when I select main beam. I think this is the case with a lot of modern cars. If it is clear enough to use main beam it is not foggy enough to require a fog light. Graham Sewell
I think that is the law. If the air is clear enough to be able to use full beam then it cannot be foggy and hence the fog lights must go out. If it is foggy, then you should be on dipped beam and hence the fog light may be switched on. Low tech luddite - xflow and proud!

Steve-B
mine are wired to dipped beam, am considering bulb upgrades to headlights and sidelights. learned about some new Philips "Cool Blue" bulbs that are traditional wattage 60w/45w but double the intensity (and are UK legal) so you don't have MOT problems. Seem to be about 20 quid/bulb Steve Metalic Black SV-VHPD click here to see our pictures....
