Roller Barrels or Direct to Head Throttle Bodies?!

Guys, a slight deviation, would throttle bodies give more bonnet clearance than a VVC inlet manifold? I've had to cant the engine over to fit the VVC manifold which compromises sump clearance. Throttle bodies might be a solution.

Thanks

Gareth

IME, RBs do not necessarily mean poor low-speed driveability.  My old SS-R has RBs as does my current R400D, and both cars drive smoothly and without snatch at low engine speeds.  I think the secret of good road manners lies in getting the RBs set up and balanced correctly.  But I couldn't say whether this needs to be done more frequently than with, say, Jenveys.

Hi Dave. I know you're right; I should be happy with 240bhp, especially as that last few bhp is just for pub bragging rights and will cost me an absolute fortune. Nice fat mid-range is what I should be after. For the time being though, 200bhp/160lbft is still enough to give me a fright, so engine work will wait until it blows up. *driving*
