Ed W
I am going to be removing my engine and gear box of my K Series to replace the clutch and CRB. A couple of years ago I found an article on here with a step by step guide to engine removal. Now I cannot find it anywhere. Can any one help? CharlesElliott
My advice. Disconnect battery negative.Drain engine oil.Drain coolant by pulling lower radiator hose - need a large container because the coolant goes both ways out the hose and out the radiator.once fully drained, remove expansion bottle, submarine pipe, bleed hose to head and lower radiator hose in one unit. Remove bottle bracket on top of chassis. Put covers (workshop gloves?) over end of coolant outlets from engine to catch coolant as engine is removed.Undo fuel return hose and high pressure feed from chassis. Catch dripping petrol. Disconnect electrical connectors. 2 x ECU, starter signal, positive to starter, multiplug on inlet side, other temperature sensors. Disconnect Apollo bleed if you have one.Remove tunnel top, undo gearstick bolts and remove.disconnect speedo drive and reverse switch.undo gearbox to mount rubber bolt attach crane undo engine mounts to chassis loosen manifoldlift engine slightly and remove manifoldlift a bit more and check if anything is still connected remove engine mount brackets keep lifting. As gearbox is going to pull off prop, put container underneath to catch gearbox oil. Keep moving container as you lift engine/move it backwards

Titanium7
If a metric chassis (2006 ish onwards) you may need to remove the alternator which will restrict getting the engine out and back in again.
