Stridey
Has anyone got any suggestion for some kind of locking device for the spare wheel?
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted March 22, 2015 Area Representative Share Posted March 22, 2015 I just use a cheap push bike lock threaded through the wheel and around the support tube.
AntonyH
Two long, non-reusable zip ties in the manner Paul describes. It's not really any form of security given there's pliers in the boot along with the wheel nut spanner, but as most cyclists will tell you, a cheap bike lock won't much delay a committed scumbag anyway.Probably best off using a locking wheelnut to attach the wheel to the Y-bracket (and can you get an equivalent for the Y-bracket bolt, or have I imagined that?) Drumster
Caterham used to supply a spare wheel bolt with a locking sleeve to prevent access to the bolt but I can't locate it on their current parts site. Maybe no longer supplied?
nickh7
Friend drilled a hole through the long bolt and attached a very small padlock as the bolt just poked through the nut inside the boot Nick h
tangomikeromeo
I have the padlock setup too. Very effective and minimal effort but do look after the key!
Jonathan Kay
Friend drilled a hole through the long bolt and attached a very small padlock as the bolt just poked through the nut inside the bootThat's clever. With the right lock or bit of chain you could also use that to secure the steering wheel.Jonathan
