John Vine
Yes, it's a straightforward job -- JK's link tells you how. Out of interest, where exactly did the inner snap? A common point of failure is in the pedal box where the inner enters the adjuster. This is what the Assembly Guide says about adjustment: The clutch cable is fitted with adjusters at both ends so that it can be adjusted at both the bell-housing and pedal box. Set the pedal box end so that a minimum length of outer cable protrudes past the locating bush into the pedal box then adjust at the bell-housing end until a satisfactory clutch pedal position is achieved (4 threads showing through the yellow bush is a good starting point). The clutch 'bite' point should be set according to personal preference ensuring that it is not adjusted so as to prevent the clutch from fully engaging or disengaging.JV
Chris C
Yes, right at the end in the pedal box!Chris
Chris C
A silly question...............but which end do you fit first? Thanks,Chris
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted March 20, 2015 Area Representative Share Posted March 20, 2015 Edited to delete my remarks which refer to throttle cable. Senior moment - must read posts more thoroughly.Really doesn't matter which end of clutch cable you attach first, although I usually attach pedal last. John Vine
the plastic adjuster at the throttle body endBut this is about the clutch cable.... which end do you fit firstAs Paul says, it doesn't matter. Just be sure to have the minimum amount of adjuster protruding into the pedal box. The failure you experienced is more than likely due to undue flexing of the inner at that point, possibly because the adjuster was set too far in.JV
