Martin B2
Hi all I've nearly finished my 160 and am going through the IVA stuff. What is the consensus about labelling the dashboard controls e.g. Indicator switch, horn, flash with some symbols on label? Is it needed for the IVA and is there a good source for the symbols that I can print out on some sticky vinyl that I can apply to the dash.thanks for your helpMartin
Grubbster
You can get a simple lable printer for a couple of quid, or I think Caterham will supply labels if you want. If you take the car for PBC and IVA at Caterham they will put the labels on for you.
AndrewB
I made some labels on the computer and printed them before using a clear sticky film to fix them to the dash. I can send you the file if that helps. I think it is a CAD file so I could get the dims right but I can pdf it if you prefer.http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tsrKZLTFa88/U1KGxmWTCUI/AAAAAAAAAqU/8U3MooAnjh0/s1600/small-DSCF0974.JPGhttp://3.bp.blogspot.com/--iP6J_n2HyI/U1KGx2y_OCI/AAAAAAAAAqY/eGuNKmwOLzI/s1600/small-DSCF0975.JPG

NedK
These ones are ready made, on eBay, and look OK to me, for 3 quid or so.
Nillbymouth
Do you want the labels for just the IVA or permanent? If just for the IVA then do what I did - cut out some small bits of paper and write "horn" "high beam" etc. on them and then stick on the dash with cellotape! Nothing more sophisticated is required. I read somewhere that their car passed IVA with post-it notes stuck on the dash!

MBB
Just don't let Caterham do it if you have OCD- this is how my dash ended upThe labels leave a sticky residue behind once removed as well.

Ozzy
I would hope it's just for IVA. Never seen labels on any Caterham dash, and don't wish to. All those pictures look awful imo!

pugwash
Unless Caterham stuck them on and then peeled them off afterwards, mine did not have labels on it for the IVA. In 2012. Perhaps the rules have changed.
Steve Sheldon
I have used the ones mentioned by NedK and they work very well. JCC Race & Rally Design. look smart and you only see the letters.
