blighty
so whats the best oil for my type 9 box and my quaiffe l.s.d. in an Ital axle, cheers.
Robster
Type 9 box needs a fully synthetic gear oil (there is a Ford part number for it in the manual, although Comma etc do the oils cheaper). The Quaiffe LSD in your axle should run an EP75-90 Synthetic hypoid gear oil...it will run on a standard EP90 but I have asked quaiffe and that is their recommendation. They also do NOT recomend slick 50 or alike.
Blatman
Red Line MTL for the 'box, and whatever Red Line make for the diff. Search out Fluke Motorsport for competitive prices on Red Line stuff............ Edited by - Blatman on 20 Jan 2003 18:55:
Bare
I think that you can purchase HONDA MTF.. fliuds as a superior substitue/alternate to the Redline products for less than half the price from a local Honda dealer. These are currently viewed as significantly superior Synthetic gear lubes in North America at least. Be aware that it comes in two viscosities, by chance(?) the exact requirements stated above.. make sure the Dealer sales person knows what he is giving you.
