glasgow
Had a leak in my 1 year old radtec "Extreme" radiator. Today I received a new one but when I opened the package, i found the radiator is a standard radiator - 45mm core (old one was the deep core - 68mm)Car is 2003 K series 140phb. Mainly used for road and may be another european trip this summer. I am just thinking is the deep core better for more efficent cooling or the standard radiator is better as the engine power is just 140bhp and the weather in most months is cold (I noticed with the deep core when i do harsh acceleration the engine temp go down quickly which may not be good for the K series)???Many thanksAhmed
Support Team Shaun_E Posted February 20, 2015 Support Team Share Posted February 20, 2015 I'm running the standard on my 260 bhp Duratec with no issues so I think the extreme would be overkill for 140 bhp
Guy Lowe
Agree with Shaun, I run a standard Radtec with a 200bhp+ Zetec and it's always been fine, in fact I have to cover a quarter of for 6 months of the year to prevent over cooling. 7 wonders of the world
I ran a stock CC ally rad & fan with 254BHP wet sumped Duratec mid 30's temps no probs at all,
CharlesElliott
In my experience, even a standard radiator is really overspec for a low-ish power K series.
