Julian H Posted December 14, 2014 Share Posted December 14, 2014 HiI have only recently bought a CTek (MXS5.0). Since I have been a little uncaring of my battery I decided to put it on recond mode. It has been running since yesterday afternoon and is now on the green Float setting. So what do I do now, just leave it on until I next use the car and let it do what ever it needs to? Mort Posted December 15, 2014 Share Posted December 15, 2014 There is no 'Snowflake mode' on the 5.0, it's automatic.You have a choice Julian, leave it connected or disconnect it and repeat the process in a few weeks. If you have one of these http://www.ctek.com/gb/en/chargers/Comfort%20Indicator%20Cig%20Plug (assuming that you're charging through the 12 V socket, or the other type if you're not) then you can check the state of charge without connecting the charger. You will need to check your electrolyte levels every 3 months or so and top up as required. If you don't you risk shortening the life of your battery.
