Maccers
Do Lotus Elise roofs leak? I guess they let in some rain when being driven in the wet, but standing still on a driveway? Want to know if I still need to get a garage!!! RM.
SvenDriver
A few years ago they did. Lotus are renowned for two things - Agility and rain induced foot baths.

Geoff C
I kept mine garaged but on the odd occasion it was left out in the rain water leaked down the side windows. (not loads) They might have improved the later hoods. Mine was a 98.
TomB
You know James Bond submarine Esprit? Lotus found making a submarine Lotus easy - fixing the leaks was the real challenge. 😬
Kevork
I bought an Elise 2 from new at the start of last year, and the roof leaked badly from the front corners. I took it in to have it re-sealed under warranty, but even after this it still leaked a little. As the car had no carpet, and the puddle of water was standing on the plastic sill cover, it never bothered me too much. I also had a towel under the driver's seat to wipe the sill before getting in and out of the car. Again, this is a small worry when you take into account the great fun you get from driving it. Cheers, Kevork PS. Get an R300 instead, even more fun and no water leaks
Paul71a
If you dont put the roof on ever, then you tend not to notice the leaks 😬 😬 😬 😬

dino ferrana
Haven't tried the hood on a series 2 but on the series one it is a fully on meccano job! I have never seen such a long winded process to put a hood up (which is unusualy being a Caterham owner! 😬 The series one hoods definately leak and I have heard of series 2 doing the same. Also the doors rattle over bumps in the series 2 so I doubt they would seal that well! Buy a Caterham they are far more fun and you don't have to style hair to drive them 😳
