jackb_ms
Hello AllI have a problem with the heater fan of my Audi A6.When I turn the fan on inside the cabin there is 50% chance it will not start. If i remove the cabin filter and give it a spin with my hand, the fan will spin slowly then gain speed and work until the next time I switch it off.I have change the speed controller. I am a somehow puzzle by this fault.I know AC motors need a capacitor to start but DC motors?Any pointers would be greatly appreciatedJack . DJ.
If it is a conventional electric motor, it sounds like part of the armature has burned out. When the brushes are in the wrong place it won't start as no current will flow. I've known this with a starter motor, and it is a real pain.
