Do people generally remove the throttle bodies before lifting the engine (mine are Jenveys)2. Area Representative Richard Price Posted October 18, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted October 18, 2014 I've never used lifting eyes to lift an engine out.I always sling a single loop of rope, with a loop around the bottom pulley, and another under the sump at the flywheel end. If you end up with the lifting point midway between the front and rear of the cam cover it will lift the engine and gearbox together at the right angle to remove. Just want to check the lifting eye points on the engine - looks like there's a bolt hole for one at the front of the engine on drivers side near the throttle body and presumably the one at the back goes where the rear cam seal cover is?
