New site lists waste space - twice as much as the old

In what follows the numbers are relative to screen size, so will change, but the issue remains the same, the new site wastes space and restricts the speed at which we can review what is on screen.

Anyway my point is this, speed of use is one of the advantages of the old site. When presenting a list of thread titles the new site presents only seven to a page, the old site presents 14 - on my 10" screen.

Spacious layout may look nice but it severely restricts how fast we can process the information by demanding more user engagement to get the same info as from the old. This will make the site feel slow and cumbersome.
