TomB
My left hand passenger door has the internal lining starting to come away from the rigid outer. It flaps around in the wind, and is annoying me. Is there anything I can do to fix it? I was wondering whether I could use some sort of spray adhesive, like you might use for Lino flooring, somehow applied through a WD40 tube through a small cut in the fabric. Has anyone had this happen to their doors?
The Prism-er
Had the same problem and eventually had both doors relined by an ex TVR trimmer. Very pleased with results. If you want details let me know.
Member Jonathan Kay Posted September 22, 2014 Member Share Posted September 22, 2014 Just been to check: the lining on mine isn't attached to the outer except at the edges and the bottom strap fixing. But I think it's always been like that and I haven't noticed it flapping. Possible fixes (!): As above, but you could make some holes and glue. If you do I'd suggest you choose the flattest bit to make it as easy as possible to align the edges of the cuts when you refix. Jonathan
TomB
I was thinking about making some small incisions along the bottom on the door and sliding a WD40 tube up into the door to spray adhesive behind. Will have a think, it's not too important. Thanks Martin, I'll get in touch if it comes to that.
Ed White
"relined by an ex TVR trimmer." I bet he's busy. Not as busy as the electrician, but busy! 😬
