Guest
For my sins I have started a project S3 (still keeping the SV) which is running a Zetec 1.8 on throttle bodies and Omex ecu. The engine will only start if you tap the ecu and does not idle. Also the rev counter seems erratic. I have the paperwork showing that this was set up by Road and Race a few years ago, however the car has covered very few miles. As I am a numpty when it comes to electronics. Any ideas of a mobile mechanic near the Surrey/ Hampshire borders who may be able to assist. In the interim I will continue with the polishing of the pitted Ali skin. Any help would be appreciated
andy couchman
Have you tried phoning Omex James? They're very helpful and from a description over the phone may be able to suggest something. From your description I wonder if it's as simple as a loose connection? Good luck. Andy

Guest
It has a misfire, so checked plugs which are very black. Cleaned them and it ran fine for 30 seconds. Have found a loose cable but not sure if this should be connected on a zetec
