Guest
Hello Guys Thought I would replace my rubber engine mounts today on my K Series. Looked easy 15min Job, but easier said than done. Job put on hold, the bond between the steel treaded core and the rubber is no longer and it is not possible to undue the central mounting bolt- the steel core just rotates. I assume I need to some how cut away the rubber so I can clamp the centre preventing it from rotating. Is there a simpler option I am not seeing - without having to remove the engine mount from the block? Cheers Gordon
Area Representative Paul Richards Posted August 31, 2014 Area Representative Share Posted August 31, 2014 Can you put a jack under the sump and gently lift the engine enough to lift the steel threaded core out of the rubber so that you can grip it with something and then remove the half inch bolt.
