ECR Posted August 29, 2014 Share Posted August 29, 2014 The battery in my trailer which is trickle charged by a solar panel took an awful lot of distilled water to top up. My fault entirely, I forgot that all batteries aren't maintenance free ! I've charged it, but is there anything else that's recommended in this situation ? Fill it, charge it and test it before you rely on it. How smart is the charger... and what will you do to prevent it from happening again? ECR Posted August 30, 2014 Author Share Posted August 30, 2014 the charger is reasonably intelligent and can be left connected. I've also charged (after topping up) with a conventional 10 amp charger as batteries sometimes won't accept a charge from an intelligent charger if they're too deeply discharged.
