Driveshaft flange

Assuming this is a new build, they do just pop out but it does take a surprising amount to force to make them pop. I used a big screwdriver I think braced against the diff with a piece of wood as the fulcrum to lever them out.

The chunk of metal that comes out is substantial and it seemed a shame to throw them away. So mine are still sat on a shelf in the garage until I think of something to use them for!

Thanks for all you tips.

Could someone confirm that I should be separating the flange where the arrow is in the photo

I'm sure that it's going to damage the flange when I apply some force so I wanted to check first.

measure twice and cut once etc etc...

The arrow is in the right place but I don't think it was the thin metal bit I levered against. You don't need the flange anyway so don't worry, but I did not bend mine when it popped out. Can't recall exactly what it looked like when in the diff but if you BM me I can send you a few pics of what it looks like when removed which should help.
