retro fitting honeycomb

Recommended Posts

as part of my rebuild I was going to fit the honeycomb protection around the fuel tank, however funds are drying up so it looks like it won't happen any time soon

however I was wondering if it was possible to fit it later without removing the fuel tank again 🤔 if not then I might consider doing it now anyway..

does it fit tot he tannk or the inside of the panels 🤔

You might be able to lift the tank high enough or forward enough to get the corr ali plate underneath.

It will be tight though.

The sides and front panels would not be a problem.

Not tried it that was as I needed to get the old tank out. So it was dampers off, cage off, corr ali boot floor out etc etc

I am fitting the kit to me inj pressure pumped tank now.

£102+vat comes to mind. It could have been 120 though.

It is a fair bit of money for what it is, but corrugated ali sheet is very expensive stuff indeed

The kit has each panel cut to shape and the base panel is crimped neatly all the way around the edge

to prevent the tank being too high. This you could emulate but it was be diff to get looking good.

Downside is that the crash prot lit weighs ~2kg. What price safety though! The ali tank inc pressure pump weighed less than 1kg with some fuel in it still! Sorry I am on the weight thing again *confused*
