Guest
I just got a 4 year old RS150. Only 3 miles on clock but in 1st and 2nd gear, espeially when the engine is cold, I get a severe Kangeroo-ing. It is so bad it is hard to drive in low speed traffic. Also, occassionally I also get a sticky throttle cable. Would the problems be related? Is it a easy fit? Stationary M25 Traveller
It could be the cable sticking or the pivot of the throttle pedal. Remove pedal box cover and disconnect cable from pedal top. See if pedal pivots freely. See if cable slides freely in the outer. Lubricate pedal pivot or replace cable inner if snagging and outer ok. Bicycle brake inner cable with right size barrel nipple only couple of Pounds in bike shop. Screw nipple to go behind pedal top only a few pence on eBay. Stationary M25 Traveller
It could also be the legendary undriveability of (some) Sigma 150 engines. Problem with mapping .... have seen cars transformed by change to 140 Supersport spec
Stationary M25 Traveller
Three miles in four years 😳 😳 😳 Can you retutn it to the seller if a dealer ...... especially if it is the above software problem.
Dr Slotter
Sounds like the 150 map problem. Get CC to sort it out.

diggerman
Take it to Caterham Midlands for a re-map Peter
Member Jonathan Kay Posted July 29, 2014 Member Share Posted July 29, 2014 I'd make sure that the mechanical bits are working smoothly, as SM25T outlines, before the expense and time of tuning. Jonathan
Roadsport06
JK - A remap by Caterham would be their latest map rather than a rolling road session, I understand this is free as Caterham didn't have a good map to start with. I assume they'd be happy to have it through the post. I wonder if Caterham have details of what version of the map is on car. As you say, check the mechanicals first.
