KarlH
Off camping today, took the 7 and got stuck in traffic around Tunbridge Wells, car didn't seem to get too hot, dial showed 90ish then it just died. Electrics seemed fine, turned over ok just wouldn't fire. Had a look but couldn't see anything obvious then it started again. Drove for another few miles and it just died again. It's a 1.8k, throttle bodies and emerald. Any ideas what could be up? Karl

Jonathan Kay
Difficult to know where to start... * Any electrical symptoms or signs? Voltage at rest and during cranking? * Petrol starvation? Release cap when it happens: any whooshing sound and does it then start? * Any work done on it recently? Jonathan
KarlH
Electrics seemed fine, everything electrical seemed to work anyway! No volt meter to check as the boot was cleared in favour of sausages and beer! No major work done recently - oil change and that's it. Runs fine when it starts again. NickRob
Hi Karl, sorry to hear that. Years ago in tin top had simialr problem with a lead that had partially been cut through. Started and ran fine when it was cold but died when hot and wouldn't start again until it had all cooled down. If i remember correctly it was a lead from the alternator ... but then it may have been from somewhere else. Hope you get it sorted. Nick

KarlH
Return journey was fine, despite temps reaching the same level. Didn't seem to be anything obvious but will have a good check over now it's back home.
