Cutting out

Recommended Posts

Off camping today, took the 7 and got stuck in traffic around Tunbridge Wells, car didn't seem to get too hot, dial showed 90ish then it just died.

Electrics seemed fine, turned over ok just wouldn't fire. Had a look but couldn't see anything obvious then it started again. Drove for another few miles and it just died again.

It's a 1.8k, throttle bodies and emerald. Any ideas what could be up?

Electrics seemed fine, everything electrical seemed to work anyway!

No volt meter to check as the boot was cleared in favour of sausages and beer!

No major work done recently - oil change and that's it. Runs fine when it starts again.

Hi Karl, sorry to hear that. Years ago in tin top had simialr problem with a lead that had partially been cut through. Started and ran fine when it was cold but died when hot and wouldn't start again until it had all cooled down. If i remember correctly it was a lead from the alternator ... but then it may have been from somewhere else. Hope you get it sorted.
