Guest
The LSD of my R500 is totally worn. The clutches are gone, and I need to replace the oil seals also. I believe that my LSD is quaife (in a Ford box). Where can I find spare parts for it? Quaife says they know nothing about it... and Caterham doesn't answer... Any idea? myothercarsa2cv
Have you checked exactly what type of diff you have? What are the symptoms? Phil will likely be able to tell you what's wrong and how to fix it. Best bet is, once you've had a chat, to post it to him P.S. Caterham won't answer today and nor will Phil, as it is a public holiday Edited by - myothercarsa2cv on 26 May 2014 16:25:

Guest
Symptoms are that I opened it and the clutches are gone :) When I were turning it made a lot of noise and blocked the diff all the time. I believe it's a quaife diff. But I have no idea how to check it.
Michael H
This website here is very useful. Half way down the page there is an illustration showing how to identify the different types of limited slip diff. Another for R&R from me... Good luck Mike
Guest
SM25T I see, but poor Roberto speaks poor English and is not going to understand what R&R says on the phone... I'll keep it as last chance... by the way, if it's Holiday in UK I don't need to struggle, I will just be patient till Tomorrow :) and if I will get an out of office reply from Darren, I will phone to R&R :D
ECR
There aren't any cluches in a Quaiffe diff it's all worked by gears ....
Stationary M25 Traveller
For repair parts or repair and setting-up, you really need to deal with Road & Race ... they are the specialists for this equipment.
Guest
Hmmm no clutches in the quaife lsd? So what kind of lsd has clutches? The outside box is Ford...
Mankee
The Quaife is a torque-biasing type of diff, so only gears. It may be that you have a ZF or Tran-X or Titan diff. Possibly some other brands. They are all clutch type LSDs and fit in the Ford 7" diff. If you post up some pictures, someone might be able to identify what sort of diff you have. Guest
1) Thank you all for the info 2) Update: Darren answered, and he redirected me to Road & Race Transmission :) I will take some pics and post them here as soon as I possible!
Mark Durrant
If this diff is fitted to an R500 K series it is likely to have a ZF LSD and unfortunately they are no longer made and I am not sure parts are available. Phil at Road and Race will know and if it needs to be replaced then I recommend you fit a Titan plate LSD. I fitted the Titan to my R500 K and it worked well
Guest
It's a Duratec r500 luckily! (luckily for the diff at least!)
