Graeme Smith
Bought a lovely new nosecone for my Seven. I managed to mangle it a few years ago in race and its looked tatty since, but I haven't nudged anyone for years . First time out on Boxing Day, some donkey in a Westfield reverses into it in the paddock. Its not badly damaged but its got a little crack around the headlamp stays. Will this spread and, if so, how to stop it?
Paul D Jones
Drill a little hole 2mm ish in front of the end of the crack then help the crack continue into the hole and it will stop there. Paul. See My Car Here
stevefoster
Ah the strength in roundness. Most things in nature are round for this very reason. /Steve My racing pics, 7 DIY, race prep. Steve-B
having raced yachts for over 30 + years, phil is spot on for the repair. i'd add that a bit of two [part] epoxy put into said hole will eliminate it ever splitting again. we do it on hulls all the time. also the spare you can take a needle and jam a bit into the crack to seal it...
