wonkey eyed barmaid
or Gradients to be more accurate. Should I expect, or will I cause any problems on my Seven Vx Classic by positioning it up an a very steep gradient?? I have the chance to borrow a couple of oversized ramps, of the kind used to good effect in Landrover dealerships etc, to get cars angled up high off the ground. This Im thinking is going to make life much easier when it comes to Waxoyling the underside of the car in the very near future... Any disadvantages of having one end of the car 4 feet off the ground for a few hours?? ie, can I cause any fluids to get places they aint meant to be, flood bits with oil/fuel/coolant etc...? Advice on this scenario appreciated, thanks!
wonkey eyed barmaid
I take it from the lack of responses that I shouldnt expect any problems if I stick the Seven up at 30/40 degrees for a while... if you know better, let me know... ta >grant. Nigel Riches
You may be able to post how your car survived, or not, the Land Rover inclination test, 40 degrees sounds a bit harsh for a road car, personally I'd leave it on the ground, or perhaps set it on axle stands, sometimes there's nothing beats a good old roll on the garage floor, Waxoyl's good stuff, go to it, Happy New year , Nigel. Graham Perry
Then again some of the latest car transporters, position cars at 45 degrees, so it can't be that damaging
Graham Sewell
My only concern would be that the rear bodywork would scrape on the ground as you try to drive onto these ramps (especially the spare wheel carrier) as you do not have the ground clearnace of a Landrover. felix.klauser
Keep an eye on your oil pressure; the oil pump pickup might not be fully submersed depending upon its position in the sump.
