Craig
Looking for a Ford 4.11 Crown and Pinion for a 1961 Ford Cortina Axle that I have in my Lotus/Caterham. Thanks, Craig
Nigel Riches
Cortina's weren't around in 1961, production was from 1962 - 1982. Sounds like you need a Mk 1 cortina axle, search in the archive for "English axle", as I think this was the designation for them. Good luck, Nigel. Ed White
It'll be English axle as discussed. They crop up on ebay. If you can search on various forums etc, the 4.1 was generally an estate or van diff. Cheers, Ed
Nigel Fox
4.1 was the standard ratio in Anglias and mk1 Cortinas amongst others. They used to be very common! I was lucky to find one a few years ago from someone breaking a rusted out Anglia, the CWP was as new. They are available, remanufactured, at Burton Power, Ilford for £250. I also have two of these (4.4 & 4.9) in regular use in my sprint/hill climb car and they have been perfect. Some people have reported failures of these on blatchat.
