Fuses blowing

Recommended Posts

I'm the new proud owner of a 2000, k series supersport with 135bhp. However the fuse on the circuit that feeds the starter motor seems to blow if I have used the red battery Isolator switch. I think there must be surge when it makes or breaks the power. Anyone else had the same problem or suggestions how to fix. It's a 20 amp fuse will be now will be trying a 25 amp to see if that fixes it.

Are you using the red switch to turn the engine off or do you have ignition keys for that?

Check that your red battery switch has a big resistor across it (should be about 30mm long and 8mm square, white rectangle).

Quoting SM25T:
If it is the ECU fuse .... then there was a tech bulletin from CC to uprate it from 20A to 30A a few years ago.

Not aware of a specific fuse for starter circuit ?

Agreed.

Did the tech update simple say replace with 30 amp fuse or was there other work that had to be done - where would I find a copy of the tech update?
