Ray Pearce
Couriers dropped my engine ☹️ and smashed the timing belt covers (plus vernier pulley, cam cover etc) Does anyone have top and inner timing belt covers available?
Stationary M25 Traveller
Ouch ! Hope no damage done to cams ?
Mankee
I've not got any spare covers, but might know someone who has. Do you need VVC or non-VVC covers?
garybee
Definitely have cam cover and coil pack cover, may have some others. Which engine variant is yours and do you have a picture of which bits you need?
Englishmaninwales
Rimmer Bros will most likely stock them new, and charge to the courier company
Ray Pearce
I'm OK for the cam cover. It is the plastic timing belt covers that I need. I checked on Rimmers website first - the top cover is out of stock and they don't even list the back cover ☹️ I don't think the covers are any different for VVC but for what it's worth, it is an EU2 non-vvc. http://my.lotussevenclub.com/Portals/14/UltraPhotoGallery/1206/250/large/20140510_112821.jpg
Mankee
Oh my gosh! From the top of what building did they drop your poor engine?! I hope that there is no internal damage. ☹️ The VVC covers have cutouts and bulges for the VVC mechs, but you can swap them around. If no luck at Rimmers, a local Land Rover place called Brit-Car have given me brilliant service before, online and over the phone. Here are the two bits if you wanted to go down the new route: http://www.brit-car.co.uk/search.php?xSearch=LJR104000 http://www.brit-car.co.uk/search.php?xSearch=LJR104320
CageyH
Ray, If you get stuck, I can send you a set off a spare engine I have lying around, until you get sorted permanently. Let me know if you want to borrow them.
CageyH
There are quite a few on eBay.
Ray Pearce
Thanks for the offer Kev. I think I'm sorted now with a combination of Brit Car and eBay. If anything falls through I might well be in touch
