Bedazzled
Can anyone recommend a book that provides a good introduction to engines for beginners? I'd like to improve my (very basic) understanding of how an engine works and what each of the components does. I'd also be interested in similar details on gearboxes, clutches, axles, differentials, suspension, etc.

Johnty Lyons
The following book is one of the best in the market and is the core text book for all Automotive Engineers. I have recommended it to many of my students and have had excellent feedback.
