naddy
Excuse my ignorance, but am I the only one wondering what a practice bomb is? I'm fairly sure it can't be what I initially thought!
Born2Run
Assuming they are in reasonably good condition I will take these for my lads primary school if you have not had any other interest. That would make a very interesting little project for them to do some work with. Ian
TomB
Be very careful with the gas mask as the filters apparently have asbestos in. I certainly wouldn't want to lend it to a school for the children to put on.
2GBR
Well the items certainly are creating discussion actually i thought it was a practice bomb but having now had a look at it i was wrong these are the markings on the replica wooden body Signal, Drift, Night AN Mark 4 Lot No 485 6/43 Triumph Explosives unfortunatly the tail is missing Probably wrong but i thought the gas mask canisters were charcoal based
Born2Run
Good spot - having checked construction it seems they contain blue asbestos (most hazardous type). It would be a good project but I doubt I would be thanked much by the school. Shame but I will pass. Thanks Ian
TomB
..and after 70 odd years of being kicked around lofts and garages, I doubt the asbestos would be in too good condition. Probably a nice pile of blue dust 😳
